Knees in Peat
Feel like an Elk wading through the marshes with Eagles overhead. Smell the peat and learn an awful lot about marshland habitats during this muddy walk.

Sedge Peatland by Łukasz Mazurek
It is a truly joyful experience as we will walk through the marshes and often a knee-high or a bit higher muddy water. We will get great views of all possible Biebrza habitats including pine forest, bog alder forest, few sorts of sedge marshes, reed beds and sand dunes. Such a variety of habitats supports a number of bird species that can be spotted. These include a Bluethroat, a Montagu’s Harrier or a Greater Spotted Eagle among a number of others. Going up a couple of tall viewing towers we have great chances of spotting Elks if we’re too loud to see them during the walk itself
It is the best possible insight into the marshes. I once saw this ad in the National Geographic magazine: You learn a lot about the environment when you’re up to hips in it…
Knee-high wellingtons or waders are necessary for this walk.
