These two men’s enthusiasm in sharing all their knowledge with the largest public and the need for a decent and widely available book that we noticed, resulted in publishing a cheap PDF version of the Biebrza Site Guide and now, we go even further – give out all the local knowledge for free with the Białowieża edition.

Meet the team:

Łukasz Mazurek “Luke”

For last 20 years Luke’s main and most favourite hobby was to explore the mountains, marshes and forests of eastern Poland in search of wild birds and mammals. Additionally, for last 10 years he’s been guiding British, German, Swiss and Dutch tours as well as individual clients around those same places.

All that knowledge and experience he gained, also as a WWF reseacher and Common Bird Census Coordinator, encouraged him to write the Biebrza Site Guide. That first book published by the WildPoland Company – the most comprehensive and detailed information on where to watch the wild birds and mammals of the Biebrza Marshes – has received a great appreciation and only the best comments as it became the best selling professional guidebook in the National Park in the first few months.

Tomek Jezierczuk “Yeaziohr”

Jezior came to Bialowieza Forest for first time in early 90’s as a forestry student and he didn’t really expect, that since then, every single spring he would spend searching for birds, mammals and guiding people trough Białowieża’s wilderness for polish travel company Bird Service. For over 10 years he has been the main pilar of the Polish Bird Festival run here by the WildWings Company.

That activity slowly became his passion & profession. Countless hours, that he has spent in search of most wanted bird species during those years, gave him an expert knowledge of where and when to watch wildlife in this last primaeval forest of Europe’s lowlands.

If there’s anybody who can immediately point you 10 or more sites where you can see a Three-toed woodpecker or a Pygmy Owl within an hour of arrival, also enjoying great views of a centuries old forest and not having to walk there for miles – it is Jezior :)
