Białowieża Site Guide
- about the online project

Why is this book free?
We decided to publish this book for free for many reasons. First of all there is still very little if any information on where to watch wild birds and mammals of the Bialowieza Forest and we keep getting hundreds of email questions a month regarding this subject. Therefore we want to share all we know for free hoping that it will be useful for travellers and nature lovers that plan to come to Poland for their wildlife holiday. Many of you cannot wait until we publish the full book so these free chapters will be for you.
Furthermore, we already published the Biebrza Site Guide and we know how much work it takes. We simply want to gain as many comments, advice and help from you as possible during the writing process, so that the final version is even better.
Finally, nobody has ever shared such a detailed knowledge in such a mass scale online so why not be first?
Where do you get the information from?
We are wildlife freaks ourselves and have spent all our teenage years in the forest, and last 15 yrs or so guiding nature and photography trips from several different countries, all year round. Check the ‘about authors‘ section to get to know us closer.
Will this book be published?
This book will be published as a PDF Site Guide and as a paperback version in spring 2010. All of that in order to give you all the knowledge you need to visit the area on your own on time – before the breeding season starts.
Once the book is published, it will be no longer available online.
How much will the paperback version cost?
We want to price it similarly to the Biebrza Site Guide. It seems, however, that it will be a thicker brother with even more maps and photos. We will do our best to keep the costs low.
Why is it free only until Feb 2010?
We want to use as many of your advice and comments as possible before the book goes into print so we need to have all the feedback ready beforehand.
We hope you will manage to share the links to the free content with all your friends who may want to come here some day for their wildlife watching holidays. After that date, the free content will no longer be available and we will lock ourselves in the office to analyse and use all your feedback.
Will commentors be credited for their input?
Surely we want to mention your name in the book credits if we use your advice and feedback.
